AFFORDABLE SHEEP THAT MAXIMISE PROFIT
Carcuma North Poll Merino, White Suffolk and Poll Dorset stud is a family owned and operated farm by Grant and Carolyn Johnson. The breeding objective of Carcuma North is continual flock improvement in quality and quantity from a very sound base.

The Carcuma North rams fit the SA Merino dual purpose description very well; big framed, robust and easy-doing sheep with heavy cutting, high quality, well-nourished, bright and free growing 19 to 21 micron fleeces. They also have very good carcase qualities for growth and muscling, thus maximising productivity and profitability for the purchasers.

The Johnsons are not prepared to sacrifice the many productive attributes of their flock and concentrate on steady improvement across all traits. This more focused and careful selection policy has ensured their rams are of a consistent high quality and breed true to type for purchasers.

WHITE SUFFOLK
The white Suffolk stud was introduced in 2011 with a purpose to offer clients both breeding and terminal rams at the one sale, to better utilise producers’ time. The Johnson’s were fortunate enough to purchase a privately selected group of ewes form the highly regarded Wheetlande White Suffolk stud at Farrell Flat.

POLL MERINO
The Carcuma North rams fit the SA Merino dual purpose description very well; big framed, robust and easy-doing sheep with heavy cutting, high quality, well-nourished, bright and free growing 19 to 21 micron fleeces.

POLL DORSET
The Poll Dorset flock is the Johnsons select stud, founded in 1956. Grant and Carolyn wanted to continue the long-standing investment into the Select Stud genetics by continuing this heritage and hard work for future generations. 2010 saw the Poll Dorset’s feature for the first time at our on-property auction.
